Section 3: DAS (Digital Apprenticeship service)

A DAS account is the online gov. apprenticeship portal that all employers need to start, recruit and manage apprenticeships. It takes around 5 minutes to set-up, but you will need your company PAYE reference number and Accounts office reference number before you start. You can either click on this >link< to access our downloadable guide or for an in-depth guide, click on the video below. Any problems, please speak to your KTA POC or contact us at apprenitceships@knightsltd.co.uk / 02080 687050.

  1. I already have a DAS account: Click >here< to access the login page
  2. How to I add additional staff: Just submit the eligibility information for your new staff member to your main KTA point of contact. We will add any new staff to your account ourselves.
  3. How do I manage/stop apprenticeships for my staff: click ‘Apprentices’ > click ‘Manage apprentices’ > click on the name of the apprentices > click ‘edit status’ > choose an action.
  4. How do I authorise an apprenticeship, once the provider has completed the information upload: click ‘Apprentices’ > click ‘Apprentice requests’ > Under the ‘ready to review’ tile, you will see the name(s) of your staff > click ‘details’ to allow you the option to authorise the funding that the provider will claim from the government.
  5. If I have a staff member that qualifies for an incentive, how do I apply? Scroll down and click on ‘Your hire a new apprentice payments’ > click ‘Apply for the hire a new apprentice payment > complete the subsequent pages and submit.
  6. If I have applied for an incentive, how do I check on its progress? Scroll down and click on ‘Your hire a new apprentice payments’ > click ‘View applications’ > Here you can view Estimate payment dates. Please note, initially it will display a message outlining that its waiting for the provider to authorise. This is normal. Just keep checking back until it displays. It can take up to 6 to 8 weeks to update, depending on when in the month we are able to submit them
  7. What happens if my PAYE and/or Accounts office reference number is showing as ‘already in use’? The quickest method is to contact the ESFA, using point 10 from this FAQ section. Phone calls or live webchats seem to work the quickest. We are not able to call for you, as its specific details form your business.
  8. How do I set permissions for my provider to add staff information for me? This section of the guide sometimes gets missed. To check or allow the permissions > click ‘Your training providers’ > locate KNIGHTS TRAINING ACADEMY LIMITED and click either set or change permissions (from the right hand-side) > click ‘allow’ under the ‘add apprentice records’ section. The ‘recruit apprentices’ is optional if we are recruiting for you > click ‘continue’ & ‘confirm’.
  9. I have been asked to sign an agreement: Every so often, your DAS account will update with a new agreement, which you will need to sign to allow you to claim incentives or your training provider to add staff details for you > click ‘Your organisations & agreement’ (found on the top ribbon) > check the ‘latest agreement status’ column to see if you need to accept. If so > click ‘view agreements’ and confirm.
  10. I am stuck and need further support or guidance with issues that my provider is unable to help with: To access the 4 help options > click >here<, scroll to the bottom of the page.
  11. Can I get the 5% contribution covered? Click >here< to see a list of large (Levy) clients who happy to transfer their Levy funds to support small business.
  12. Need support from your provider: Speak to your main point of contact or reach out to apprenticeships@knightsltd.co.uk or 02080 687050.
